After 3 days of frustration I've got the laptop working again. Had to reinstall a lot of software, and while playing with Picasa I found a new slideshow setting. Well, I had to try it didn't I? Music has nothing to do with the pictures really, but it's my favourite track from the Thumbsucker soundtrack and I've been itching to use it for ages :-)

I'm happy you've got your laptop back, mine is going into the shop today, been having an issue for a while and I thought it was my connection, but it's the laptop which is less than a year old!!!
So, now I'm on my old laptop, keeping fingers crossed this works until new one gets repaired.
