I share your pain!! My dad's cataract op was 4 hours, but he took the bus in then called me when he was 'released' to go get him ;0)

First, sending good wishes for your Mum.

Second, Eliza, dear. It's a good thing there were no doctors that looked like the MAN. You would still be there, your Mum would be wondering the halls, your kids would be hungry, J. would be confused, and we would be insanely jealous.
See, things happen for a reason.

Can you imagine if he walked into the examination room?! I'd faint...

Hope your mom is recovering quickly Eliza :)

I hear good things about cataract surgery. Hope your mm got on OK.

Please send him to Val for her tooth. @Tess, if you fainted, I'm thinking mouth to mouth resusitation. In that case, I'd faint as well. Eliza, if your Mom worn glasses prior to the surgery she may find that she doesn't need them any more.

I hope things went well with your mom, Eliza! You might need to call "Dr. Stern" for a consult!

My best wishes to your Mom for a speedy recovery. My mom needs to have her cataract removed, too, but first we're getting a second opinion before scheduling the surgery. She's nervous about having surgery on her right eye, and I don't blame her. Hope all is well with you.

If I ever got sick enough to be in the hospital, I hope that I get a "Dr. Stern," although I might not be in any hurry to recover. LOL
