A Hay Wagon

On a tv show = a Gavin post...easily inspired today :)

It's been a bit of a busy week this week..hence my absences...Mum has been offered a 'Supported Living' flat finally and sorting out all her things has been interesting to say the least...getting the contents of a house whittled down to what she can take to a 1-bed flat has taken some doing and I think we still have a way to go :)

Oh, I know! My mum had a massive 2-bed flat (living room and bedroom each measuring 25 x 30 feet) and moved into a 1-bed moderately sized one. Almost everything had to go - her sofa wouldn't have fitted in the door. Then when she went into a residential care home she ended up with only two or three tings that would fit in her sitting room. I won't go into sorting those few bits out when she finally left us.

It was really great for her, though, and I'm sure it will be for your mum. And you...

My dad was going to move to a one bedroom assisted living apartment and then he back out. While I really wanted him to go, I was dreading clearing out his house.

I've entered the universe of elderly parents. I too an dealing with the purging aspects of an aging parent. But as val noted it does feel good as well as being a good thing in the long run.
