Homo Homini Lupis

This is another of those where I hate the subject but love the episode..probably down to Bobby and how he is :-)

I absolutely hated the Father in this one, because of his greed his daughter was raped. Bobby was incredible with that girl.

I feel the same way. My heart melts when he hugs the girl.

Horrible episode. Showing the girl being raped was just stupid, sensationalist, gratuitous rubbish.

And - honestly - if you had just been raped, would you let a strange man hug you like that? No, I don't think so. That bit was totally UNREAL. Sure Bobby was incredible with the girl, but he should NEVER have touched her, let alone hugged her.

She was crying and he knew that she needed to, ordinarily a rape victim would flinch if someone touched them but Goren broke down her defences and she didn't have the inclination or time to flinch-Yes it wasn't a nice subject,I more hated the Grandfather as it was he who ordered them to be kidnapped ( but didn't bank on his granddaughter getting attacked), his son was just weak. Good collages Eliza, B/W the favorite.

I think you've misunderstood, Jane. One possibility was that the grandfather knew his son's tricks, and that the SON might have arranged the kidnap. The alternative was that the grandfather knew the loan shark. That turned out to be the person responsible.

Anyway, under normal circumstances I'd agree, Lozzie, and I did think like you at first. Then I thought - but it's Bobby. Who wouldn't want to be comforted and protected by him!

I would need to see the eppy again to know for certain.

This caused my first attack of jealousy over Bobby. As Jojo said, it was just soooooo lovely, the way he held that girl (me next please!)

I actually like this episode. Normally I would shy away from such subject matter, but the way he handled the family and the girl in particular..she needed comfort, he gave it. He got past her fear and gave her back her life. I liked it. Nice post, thank you.

Val I guess that is because we all KNOW Bobby Goren and, frankly, would gnaw off our right arms if it gave us the chance for a bit of a snoogle with him.

But I am also a Kathryn Erbe fan and I think that scene would have been a lot better - I mean, more realistic - if Eames had handled it. Goren's empathy could have easily been conveyed by Goren (knowing Vincent's acting abilities) with just an 'expression' and maybe a sniffle.

I don't normally feel like this about LOCI episodes but this one really just got on my tits and I refuse to watch it.
